Google PR Screwed Up?

Less than a day passes after receiving a Google Page Rank 1 and what happens? It’s taken away! Curses and other blocked words are again being directed towards Google for once again screwing us over!

SITES UPDATE
Because of a lack of time, updates were not made to many sites including the and domains that have recently a lot of traffic from SERP based on searches for Valentines Day related keywords. Essentially, this is a big blow but what is clear is that these domains can be used for either online ecommerce stores selling adult related gifts, clothing lines, fragrances etc… or use as an affiliate hub… Or maybe, one for each? With some SEO and promotion, this could work. Valentines is too late now, however, Amazon aStore may be the solution for the short term here…

Tokyo Drift has been getting steady traffic since its inception, sadly since Google killed the Adsense account a while back, most of the traffic had been wasted, well a new Adsense account that had been sitting dormant for quite a while was activated and within a day was converting. A closer look at the domain and what could be added to improve the ROI is clear, more pages, more content, more targeted ads including ebay, Amazon, Itunes and adsense! The Fast and the Furious universe includes 3 movies, 3 soundtracks, possible spin-offs and not forgetting biographies, cast news, RSS feeds and more. The idea is, once the site is complete, automate the process so that news is added every other day automatically. This could potentially be used as a template for a lot more projects…

VSNetwork will get a face lift soon as it is a bit over due now, Site links will be added to the main page to prvide more back links for all other sites, this should improve SERPS, thats the theory anyway.

Screwed Over By Google? We’re Not The Only Ones…

Checking through the weblogs, this interesting search query was found within the refferals from MSN:

http://search.msn.co.uk/…

Now this query was made by someone else who had also been screwed over(not surprisingly, that person decided to use MSN instead of Google search) over alleged Click Fraud. Having a look at the results, VSNetwork.co.uk came up in third and fourth spots, but there are many other sites that were screwed over:

http://www.domainblog.net

http://www.itsmyjourney.com

http://business.timesonline.co.uk <-- Really good article here

Who needs Google Adsense anyway? Right? If you have also been screwed over by Google, please feel free to leave a comment.

Its Been Quite A While Since The Last Post

Alot has happened in the last 3 weeks, especially with TheShishaShop.com project that has taken alot of time and resources. Other significant news relates to Google and its Adsense network. We were accused of click fraud and have had our account terminated! More on than later on as additional posts are added to make up for the last three weeks!

Google Closes Adsense Account

In quite a surprising move, here an email that was recieved from Google:

” It has come to our attention that invalid clicks and/or impressions
have been generated on the Google ads on your site(s). We have
therefore disabled your Google AdSense account. Please understand that
this was a necessary step to protect the interest of the AdWords
advertisers.

A publisher’s site may not have invalid clicks or impressions on any
ad(s), including but not limited to clicks and/or impressions generated
by:

- a publisher on his own web pages
- a publisher encouraging others to click on his ads
- automated clicking programs or any other deceptive software
- a publisher altering any portion of the ad code or changing the
layout, behavior, targeting, or delivery of ads for any reason

These or any other such activities that violate Google AdSense Terms
and Conditions and program polices may have led us to disable your
account. The Terms and Conditions and program polices can be viewed at:

https://www.google.com/adsense/localized-terms?hl=en_GB
https://www.google.com/adsense/policies?hl=en_GB

Publishers disabled for invalid click activity are not allowed further
participation in AdSense and do not receive any further payment. The
earnings on your account will be properly returned to the affected
advertisers.

If you feel that this decision was made in error, and can maintain in
good faith that the invalid activity was not due to the actions or
negligence of you or those you are responsible for, such as employees
and family members, you may appeal the closing of your account. To do
so, please contact us only through this form:

http://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/request.py?contact=invalid_clicks_appeal&hl=en_GB

If Google decides to evaluate your appeal, we will do our best to
inform you quickly and will proceed with appropriate action as
necessary. If we have reached a decision on your appeal, subsequent or
duplicate appeals may not be considered.

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team”

This of course was a ridiculous and outragous claim and an immediate appeal was made! This decision by Google has greatly affected the VSNetwork of sites including live sites such as TokyoDriftTheSoundtrack.com and PowerTheBrain.com. Let’s up Google decides to do the right thing and re-enable the account!

So How Much Has Tokyo Drift and DowngradeMyPSP.com Made So Far?

For the month of July, Clickbank reports that there have been a total of four successful conversions from DowngradeMyPSP.com generating a total of $51.96 (latest conversion was a UK user yesterday) now this hasn’t set the world alight with revenue but still, its an indication of what can be achieved with a more aggressive campaign!

Tokyo Drift has also seen its first Amazon conversion (UK) netting an impressive £0.83/$1.55 for one sale with still no sale from the US. In terms of Adsense totals, Tokyo Drift has made $16.79 which is very low. Tokyo Drift needs to be expanded further so that it is more reliant on SERPs instead of the Ad campaign it is going through at the moment. The long term goal is to generate $10 per day (sounds really tough yes but is possible!) and rely solely on SERPs. A new design is in the works (at some point) but more importantly, more pages and content will be added to keep the user on the site for a longer period of time…

Downgrademypsp.com adds another sale to its tally

A UK user on the 27th July decided to purchase a copy of the video making it a total of three sales for the month, not bad considering the superslow Adwords campaign running on the side to promote it, sad thing is, convert the figure into Pound Sterling and its not a great deal of money… :(

UnleashMyPSP.com is due a proper makeover very soon once the CDLakorn.com project is complete. Planned features will include an RSS feeds for the latest news, a section on games, PSP hardware and also a section on UMD movies. Naturally, this is about making revenue and a good development project with plenty of traffic so will be based on WordPress technology with an Amazon feed to display the product information and options to buy with. Being related to PSP, ClickBank products and Adsense content will also be present, its about time it paid for it self now!

First and Second Conversion Complete on one of the MyPSP.com sites

According to Clickbank, there have been two successful conversions from either DowngradeMyPSP.com or UnleashMyPSP.com, not sure which as Clickbank doesn’t actually say what site the referral has come from. Either way YAAAAAYYYYY!!

These conversions both occur from the US last Wednesday and Thursday, this was just noticed earlier on today (what about to dump the affiliate program) but it appears that the target PPC campaign with Google Adsense worked on this occasion, time to increase exposure and in turn create a higher revenue :D

Tokyo Drift Adwords and Adsense Campaign Ready

Well the time has finally come for the Adwords campaign to start. One of the mistakes made was that this should have been implemented the day the movie hits the US/UK cinema so that the seaching could begin. Potential competitive advantage over other sites were lost with this delay. Nevermind, its done now, its a case of waiting to see the results.

The site also has had Adsense codeblocks added to the top and mid sections in an attempt to cater for the quick users that arrive, look briefy at the site then move on without scrolling down the page.

Hopefully this ad campaign helps to make at least a few sales from Amazon…

Google Adsense Notifier Firefox Extension for GAD Sufferers

Adsense Notifier is a very simple extension for FireFox that simply shows your adsense stats on the status bar and updates the stats automatically (by default every 20 minutes but this can be reduced). DowngradeMyPSP.com

After much deliberation, it was decided that DowngradeMyPSP.com should be the main MyPSP.com site because in terms of SEO, most people are searching for the phrase: “downgrade PSP”. Now having this phrase within the domain name will help it achieve a higher ranking!

So what happens to UnleashMyPSP.com? Well nothing, for now, it remains in its place with the current content but chaces are, this will be changed into a free PSP Portal site. This ofcourse will need to be set to autopilot somehow so that there is little to no maintanence involved :D

A new Adwords account has been setup with a small budget and list of keywords to test the response and monetery feedback. So far, according to my Stat Counter, I’ve had 18 people visit the site from SE. Google reports that atleast 7 clicks were made. Will report more on this tomorrow!
