SERP for TheShishaShop.com

Just checking the Search Engine Results Pages for TheShishaShop.com and it seems that the term “shisha flavours” gets good ranking as follows:

Engine         Rank
Yahoo          2
Yahoo UK     1
Google         15
Google UK    9
MSN            22
MSN UK       18

Please note, by UK this is meant that search results are filtered to only include results from UK.

Abit of work is still required to optimise Google and MSN, but this should be achieveable when the new front end gets installed.

Google PR Update
A check on Page Rank here confirms that VSNetwork has been given a PR of 1, its just that not every Google PR server has this updated, nevermind, its a start!

Google PR Screwed Up?

Less than a day passes after receiving a Google Page Rank 1 and what happens? It’s taken away! Curses and other blocked words are again being directed towards Google for once again screwing us over!

SITES UPDATE
Because of a lack of time, updates were not made to many sites including the and domains that have recently a lot of traffic from SERP based on searches for Valentines Day related keywords. Essentially, this is a big blow but what is clear is that these domains can be used for either online ecommerce stores selling adult related gifts, clothing lines, fragrances etc… or use as an affiliate hub… Or maybe, one for each? With some SEO and promotion, this could work. Valentines is too late now, however, Amazon aStore may be the solution for the short term here…

Tokyo Drift has been getting steady traffic since its inception, sadly since Google killed the Adsense account a while back, most of the traffic had been wasted, well a new Adsense account that had been sitting dormant for quite a while was activated and within a day was converting. A closer look at the domain and what could be added to improve the ROI is clear, more pages, more content, more targeted ads including ebay, Amazon, Itunes and adsense! The Fast and the Furious universe includes 3 movies, 3 soundtracks, possible spin-offs and not forgetting biographies, cast news, RSS feeds and more. The idea is, once the site is complete, automate the process so that news is added every other day automatically. This could potentially be used as a template for a lot more projects…

VSNetwork will get a face lift soon as it is a bit over due now, Site links will be added to the main page to prvide more back links for all other sites, this should improve SERPS, thats the theory anyway.

Finally, Google PR1 for VSNetwork

Well it’s certainly not the greatest achievement but it can certainly be said, “about bloody time!”. The Blog has been quiet for some time with focus more on news articles than actual news of projects that are being worked on. In fairnesses, alot of the projects are on hold.

Sadly, the main ambitions were lost, for a while at least, but now are back. So what exactly is the goal? To create and document the online Property Portfolio of Websites under the Virtual Solutions Network.

These sites will be a combination of brand new sites built from scratch, addresses niche areas, while others will use turnkey systems as the core with fresh content built around them. Finally, there will also be sites that are purchased for redevelopment and resale. Look out for more fresh updates for this site as they are posted including information on the t status of the current portfolio.

The goal is to also add fresh articles on Promotional techniques and SEO, as these tools will essentially market the sites and build their popularity.

Windows Vista Goes Gold!

As promised yesterday and after 5 years of development, Vista is finally finished.

Jim Allchin, the co-president of Microsoft’s Platforms & Services Division has put together a video about the announcement where he announces the General Availability (GA) date of 30 January 2007 for Vista.

Nick White, product manger in Windows client also had this to share with Neowin readers:

“Ultimately, we never could have achieved this milestone without you, the enthusiast community, who have played a key role in making this the highest-quality, most secure, most reliable and most usable version of Windows the world has ever seen. You gave us unprecedented support in testing and providing your feedback while we designed, developed and refined Windows Vista — so much so that it has in many ways become a reflection of your involvement.”

Availability of the RTM code on MSDN is still not known officially with a Microsoft spokesperson citing “within 7 days” after todays announcement. Given MSDN has scheduled down time from 7PM PST to 9PM PST on Friday, November 10th - I’d expect it to arrive shortly after that.

Expect exclusive RTM ship party photographs shortly.

Inside the Nintendo Wii Box

Here’s a photo blog of someone that has recieved the Nintendo Wii. The packaging itself is a very simple white box that appears to be quite small in size. Within it, there is two seperate boxes that house the console itself the rest of the components respectively.

Windows Vista will RTM at build 6.0.6000

A source close to Microsoft has confirmed to me that Windows Vista will in fact carry the build number 6.0.6000. He found this out by receiving a mail with the build stamp “Microsoft Windows Mail 6.0.6000.16384″ so that ends that speculation.

Also the MSDN subscription page has been updated with the following information

Windows Vista and Office 2007: Availability on MSDN Subscriber Downloads
Windows Vista and Office 2007 will be available through MSDN Subscriber downloads within 7 days of release to manufacture (RTM). MSDN Subscriptions is committed to making new content available to our subscribers as soon as is practical.

Looks like we’ll be seeing this appear soon.

Update: Several key Microsoft employees has firmly stated that Vista has not been released to manufacturing. The day might be soon, but is certainly not today, or tomorrow. There’s still a bit more work to do. Build 6000.16384 is real, but it also doesn’t mean RTM. These days, Microsoft doesn’t have to increase the major version number when building, so theoretically, any sub-set of build 6000 (6000.16385, 16386, etc…) can be RTM.

Indepth Look at the Zune

Looks as though PodTech (Robert Scoble anyone?) sat down with Matt Jubelirer, product manager of the Zune program and got a 40 minute video out of it. The video runs through the Zune in detail and really gives a nice overview of Microsoft’s answer to the iPod. (PodTech has an awesome demo of Cisco’s new TelePresence 3000 system as well over here if you’re into Video Conferencing)

Video weighs in at around 120 Megs, but well worth the download if you’re considering buying one, on or after, November 14th.

Three million of IE7 in first 4 days

Internet Explorer 7
IEBLOG: In the first four days over three million of you have already downloaded the final release. Thank you! (If you’re not one of those three million, you can get it here.)We expect the numbers to continue to climb steadily until we start distributing via Automatic Updates in a few weeks.

Clearly, we expect IE7 adoption to really take off then. If you haven’t tested your website with IE7 yet, please use the tools Scott posted about a few weeks ago to help you prepare. With the final release, we got a chance to do some fun tech community activities. For instance, on the night of the launch, we hosted a dinner in San Francisco for about twenty leaders in the local blogging community.

Afterwards, Jeremiah Owyang posted his thoughts and Thomas Hawk put up a great set of photos. We also finally let our product managers do some real marketing. We have the first IE radio spot that I can remember us doing, and we created some Mobile billboards that cruised through 10 major U.S. cities.Source: IE Blog via Bink

It’s Raining Cats and Dogs at the Greenwich Markets - Monday 2nd October 2006

TheShishaShop.com enters the Greenwich market for the very first time. However because of unusually busy activity from other traders, TheShishaShop.com is asked to setup outside to compete against the elements! Being the brave souls that we are, we engaged to erect our stall in a battle against the rain! Alas, as courageous as we were, the rain was just too strong and we were ready to call it a day.

Then a spot of luck, although the weather had changed for the better, we were allocated a stall at the main entrance of the market so we proceeded to setup. All of a sudden, the heavens opened, there were ramblings of thunder, flashes of lightening and even hail stones! But that didn’t stop people from attending the Greenwich festival!

Just a quick reminder, we have a guide on How to Setup Your Shisha available so if you do get stuck, follow the guide or contact us. Pics have now been uploaded, remember, if your in one of these pictures and would like a copy of the original image, or have a question regarding Shisha, email us at info@theshishashop.com or use the contact form here. Hope to see you guys again real soon!

Remember, we still want to see all your pictures and images of you enjoying yourselves with your Shisha Pipes! Spread the word, tell all your friends and family about us! Link to us in emails, blogs, podcast and all other forms of communication!
