SERP for TheShishaShop.com

Just checking the Search Engine Results Pages for TheShishaShop.com and it seems that the term “shisha flavours” gets good ranking as follows:

Engine         Rank
Yahoo          2
Yahoo UK     1
Google         15
Google UK    9
MSN            22
MSN UK       18

Please note, by UK this is meant that search results are filtered to only include results from UK.

Abit of work is still required to optimise Google and MSN, but this should be achieveable when the new front end gets installed.

Google PR Update
A check on Page Rank here confirms that VSNetwork has been given a PR of 1, its just that not every Google PR server has this updated, nevermind, its a start!

Google PR Screwed Up?

Less than a day passes after receiving a Google Page Rank 1 and what happens? It’s taken away! Curses and other blocked words are again being directed towards Google for once again screwing us over!

SITES UPDATE
Because of a lack of time, updates were not made to many sites including the and domains that have recently a lot of traffic from SERP based on searches for Valentines Day related keywords. Essentially, this is a big blow but what is clear is that these domains can be used for either online ecommerce stores selling adult related gifts, clothing lines, fragrances etc… or use as an affiliate hub… Or maybe, one for each? With some SEO and promotion, this could work. Valentines is too late now, however, Amazon aStore may be the solution for the short term here…

Tokyo Drift has been getting steady traffic since its inception, sadly since Google killed the Adsense account a while back, most of the traffic had been wasted, well a new Adsense account that had been sitting dormant for quite a while was activated and within a day was converting. A closer look at the domain and what could be added to improve the ROI is clear, more pages, more content, more targeted ads including ebay, Amazon, Itunes and adsense! The Fast and the Furious universe includes 3 movies, 3 soundtracks, possible spin-offs and not forgetting biographies, cast news, RSS feeds and more. The idea is, once the site is complete, automate the process so that news is added every other day automatically. This could potentially be used as a template for a lot more projects…

VSNetwork will get a face lift soon as it is a bit over due now, Site links will be added to the main page to prvide more back links for all other sites, this should improve SERPS, thats the theory anyway.

Finally, Google PR1 for VSNetwork

Well it’s certainly not the greatest achievement but it can certainly be said, “about bloody time!”. The Blog has been quiet for some time with focus more on news articles than actual news of projects that are being worked on. In fairnesses, alot of the projects are on hold.

Sadly, the main ambitions were lost, for a while at least, but now are back. So what exactly is the goal? To create and document the online Property Portfolio of Websites under the Virtual Solutions Network.

These sites will be a combination of brand new sites built from scratch, addresses niche areas, while others will use turnkey systems as the core with fresh content built around them. Finally, there will also be sites that are purchased for redevelopment and resale. Look out for more fresh updates for this site as they are posted including information on the t status of the current portfolio.

The goal is to also add fresh articles on Promotional techniques and SEO, as these tools will essentially market the sites and build their popularity.

U3 BeSmart Drives

U3, the company that developed the technology behind the new “smart drives that are sold by various flash drive manufacturers, had a very interesting presentation. First and foremost, the drive is automatically password protected. If you lose the device and someone tries to log in with the wrong password, it will prohibit them from accessing your information. Not only that, but if 100 failed log in attempts are recorded, the drive automatically formats itself and destroys all the contained data.

While security is nice, the “portable desktop concept was even more appealing. At one point, the presenter put in his own BeSmart drive and, after logging in, almost instantly, the Windows wallpaper was changed to that of his own, and Yahoo! Widgets and Skype opened up. Along with all of that, a version of McAfee Antivirus opened and was actively protecting the drive. From that point on, portable versions of Firefox and Thunderbird (from portableapps.com) were opened up alongside a sudoku game.

Nothing was installed on the hard drive and all the applications closed immediately upon removal of the flash drive, supposedly leaving no trace/evidence of the applications ever even being run. Pretty useful for that small time repairman or the guy who wants to sneak some games into his office. Almost every major flash drive manufacturer is on board and will have/already has their own BeSmart drives. If you’re in the market for a flash drive, definitely make sure to check out these little critters.

Screwed Over By Google? We’re Not The Only Ones…

Checking through the weblogs, this interesting search query was found within the refferals from MSN:

http://search.msn.co.uk/…

Now this query was made by someone else who had also been screwed over(not surprisingly, that person decided to use MSN instead of Google search) over alleged Click Fraud. Having a look at the results, VSNetwork.co.uk came up in third and fourth spots, but there are many other sites that were screwed over:

http://www.domainblog.net

http://www.itsmyjourney.com

http://business.timesonline.co.uk <-- Really good article here

Who needs Google Adsense anyway? Right? If you have also been screwed over by Google, please feel free to leave a comment.

Its Been Quite A While Since The Last Post

Alot has happened in the last 3 weeks, especially with TheShishaShop.com project that has taken alot of time and resources. Other significant news relates to Google and its Adsense network. We were accused of click fraud and have had our account terminated! More on than later on as additional posts are added to make up for the last three weeks!
